Why we decided to re-formulate our best selling Sugared Butter Whip Body Polish

Why we decided to re-formulate our best selling Sugared Butter Whip Body Polish

When I whipped up my first batch of Sugared Butter Whip Body Polish in my Kitchen Aid mixer in 2006, I did it with the intention of offering my salon clients a much better quality product (and service) than the competition. My goal was to create a product/treatment that softened, moisturized, and reduced dry skin without synthetics, artificial fragrances and unnecessary ingredients (there were many). Natural and organic ingredients were important to me before it became the thing to do.

Why are we re-formulating such a great product?
Simply put....because exciting new, highly effective ingredients have arrived on the scene, and we constantly test and strive to bring you exceptional treatments with unparalleled ingredients, and amazing results

3  Superior skin care ingredients you'll be reading more about...

Prickly pear oil -  Prickly Pear contains the most Vitamin E of any beauty oil on the market (150% more than Argan oil), and the highest percentage of unsaturated fatty acids (88%) - making it an incredibly powerful oil for skin. High (60%) Linoleic Acid content make the oil absorb wonderfully into our skin.  Intensely nourishing and rich in vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin A, C & E, Calcium and Potassium.

Flax Seed Oil - Oils are traditionally used in formulas to achieve skin-softening properties. Flax seeds contain antioxidants, and also have anti-bacterial and fungicide properties.  A good source of Omega-3 fatty acids.  It is believed that certain skin disorders such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss and dandruff are related to a deficiency in omega fatty acids. Using Flax Seed oil in topical applications may minimize the appearance of such conditions.

Honey Butter -  Honey is incredible for your skin thanks to its antibacterial properties and hefty serving of skin-saving antioxidants. Effective for maintaining skin elasticity and moisture level, honey is a natural humectant (moisture binder).

The Perfect Day for Vegan African Peanut Soup

by Bold Bold February 20, 2018

whole food plant based, vegan, african peanut soup

It finally feels like a Winter Day in Southern California. 50 degree high! The perfect day to try a new soup recipe.

I made the change to whole food, plant-based eating nine months ago and while it's had its challenges, the rewards have been greater. The challenges have been to break the Meat, Carb, Veggie meal habit I was in for 50 years, to Carb and Veggie only, minus dairy. Also, I no longer think of carbs as the enemy. In fact, they are my new bff's.

The fun part of teaching myself to cook differently is the ethnic dishes I've discovered. Today, it's  African Peanut Soup. Oh my gosh, the spices! I love the way our house smells as I broaden my culinary horizons.
